DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, THE FOLLOWING EVENTS ARE LIMITED TO STAFF. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
Daily Mass
At 9:15 am, Monday through Thursday, in the André House of Hospitality Family Dining room, the core team, staff and members of our community gathers to celebrate Mass. Praying simply, we sit at the round tables that are used to prepare the evening meal and where many of our guests sit nightly for the meal. It is, for us, the perfect way to begin our day of service. All are welcome to join us in prayer.
White Tanks Cemetery
Every Thursday, deceased homeless and indigent persons for whom no relatives can be found to assume burial responsibilities are laid to rest in the bleak White Tanks Cemetery. Present to honor them are only members of the chain gang, who provide the labor, and a rotating minister or priest to offer burial prayers. The André House staff presides over these services several times a year. Our Thanksgiving Eve Memorial Service provides our greater community an opportunity to reflect on the challenging lives of our homeless brothers and sisters.
On Thanksgiving Eve each year, the André House community of staff, volunteers and benefactors gathers at White Tanks Cemetery in Litchfield Park to remember all of the homeless men and women who have died. This powerful service is a reminder to all of us of the brevity of our life on earth and prepares us to truly give thanks on Thanksgiving for the many blessings in our lives.
